Willy 385L is a wonderful cobination of two lines based on British semen, the Blackbird and Nairn lines with another British ram in the pedigree as well. 69E is one of our larger framed, but still moderate, ewes who milks very well with a nice tight udder. If it wasn't for having so much of the Hornpipe Blackbird line in our flock, we would likely be using 385L. He has done well considering our ram lambs end up having to compete with older ram lambs and some yearlings. At around 50-60 days they are weaned, then around 100 to 120 days old they get moved to our ram growiing group. This group consist of rams born in January and May. 385L has competed well and held his own. He is a real nicely built ram that should sire lower birthweights, making him good to use on first time lambers. But he has enough performance to work on mature ewes as well.
