9/30/2008 - Rule Changes for 2008-2009 Season
The following rule changes are in effect.
Motion by Corleen LeClercq that the last payout placing will receive no less than their entry fee.
Seconded by Robert Purves. CARRIED
Motion by Lana Bohnet that starting in 2010 that our new season will begin on July 21 and that finals entry deadline will be July 27, 2010.
Seconded by Dianne Romeo. CARRIED
Motion by Nikki Tunke to change the rule to state that we charge a minimum of $2 Finals Fee.
Seconded by Shelley Kormillo. CARRIED
Motion by Corleen LeClercq to have a 2 week notice for jackpots approvals.
Seconded By Tammy McComish. CARRIED
Motion by Dianne Romeo that we start accepting Proposals from any interested venues for the 2011 ABRA Finals. The ABRA would require information on arena, warm up arena, parking, stalling, banquet facilities, caterers, and office space.
Seconded by Robert Purves. CARRIED
Motion by Lana Bohnet that double header jackpots will be approvedwith one run only. Must be advertised as a double header jackpot.
Seconded by Shelley Kormillo. CARRIED
Motion by Lana Bohnet to change the time split to 7/10 unless the total footage is over 234 feet then it will be a one second split in the open only.
Seconded by Corleen LeClercq. CARRIED
Motion by Corleen LeClercq to charge a non-member fee in the amount of $25 to open and $10 to youth at added money jackpots only. It must be advertised that there is a non-member charge and you have to have proof of membership when entering.

9/18/2008 - ABRA Casino Feb 6 & 7, 2009
The ABRA is looking for volunteers to help work the Casino. It is held on Feb 6 & 7, 2009 at Casino Edmonton (on Argyl Road, SE Edmonton). If you work both days the ABRA will pay for your hotel bill.
We require 48 workers to cover all the shifts during these two days. Ask anyone who has worked this before, it is alot of fun and is not hard work.

9/18/2008 - Children's Wish Foundation receive $1465.50
At the 2008 ABRA Finals we had a 'lost in the arena' bucket that competitors had to donate $2 per item that they lost in the arena during their run. The proceeds went to the CHILDRENS WISH FOUNDATION.
Huckleberry Cafe, Wetaskiwin, donated 4 pies to the finals to hand out as our announcer, Bob Baker chose. Bob had an idea!! He sold those pies to the audience and generated an income of $1210 to be donated to the CHILDRENS WISH FOUNDATION. Bob had lots of fun during the week raising money. He made people pay to find out what time lunch would be at and many more zanny antics that he came up with.
The ABRA is proud to be sending a check in the amound of $1465.50 to go towards the CHILDRENS WISH FOUNDATION. Thank you to all of those who helped in this cause.
9/12/2008 - ABRA Secretary Position
Applicants for the ABRA Secretary Position Needed
The ABRA is looking for a new Provincial Secretary. This position pays $1000/month. The successful applicant will be responsible for memberships, jackpot listings, website updates, ABRA official newsletter updates, Finals entries, Finals secretary, recording minutes of meetings, any many more responsibilites. Knowledge of the ABRA Rules and Format would be an asset.
